LeadingAge Colorado Services
While not an exhaustive list, LeadingAge Colorado's key services to members generally fall into one of five categories: Advocacy, Information, Education, Technical Assistance, and Resources. Each of LeadingAge Colorado's services is designed to make our members' jobs easier. For example, advocacy involves working on behalf of members with the appropriate state and federal legislative bodies and regulatory agencies. Information comes in many forms, but key among them are our weekly Capitol Focus newsletter, other regular and specialty publications, fax and email blasts, and serving as a resource for the news media. As for education, LeadingAge Colorado regularly has more than 20 free-standing educational programs for all levels of staff throughout the year, as well as a large slate of "hot topic" programs during our Annual Conference and Exhibition. Technical assistance takes many forms, but often starts with a member phone call to staff to help gather information about a specific topic or negotiate their way through a particular problem. Finally, LeadingAge Colorado has a wide array of resources available for members, including group purchasing, awards and our website, and products, such as brochures. More detailed information about these key services follow.
Working For Our Members - LeadingAge Colorado has a proven track record of success in representing the interests of its members. To achieve its successes, LeadingAge Colorado's legislative priorities are established far in advance of the legislative session so LeadingAge Colorado and members can communicate early and often with legislators. Another key to LeadingAge Colorado's success is its extensive database, which allows LeadingAge Colorado to quickly analyze the impact of proposed legislation and, when necessary, to present thoughtful, reasoned alternatives. LeadingAge Colorado effectively uses its lobbying expertise, grass roots strength and information system - all of which translate into strong representation at the State Capitol.
